3. Hazards identification

Repeated or prolonged contact may cause skin irritation. Repeated or prolonged inhalation of vapours from the product may cause damage to the central nervous system.

4. First-aid measures

Inhalation: Seek fresh air. In case of continuous discomfort seek medical attention.
Ingestion: Rinse mouth thoroughly with water. Have the injured person drink water or milk. Seek medical attention.
Skin contact: Remove contaminated clothes. Wash the skin with plenty of soap and water. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.
Eye contact: Promptly wash eyes with plenty of water while lifting the eye lids. Continue to rinse for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.

5. Fire-fighting measures

The product is not flammable but may burn. Use extinguishing media in accordance with the surrounding fire. If heated, harmful vapours and gas may develop. Seek fresh air.

6. Accidental release measures

In event of large spillage to external environment contact local authorities. Prevent access to drains, sewers, waterways, and soil. Absorb in vermiculite, dry sand or earth and place in containers. Disposal: see section 13.

7.  Handling and storage

Handling: Sufficient ventilation must be established (e.g. mechanical ventilation, local exhaust ventilation or the like). If this is not possible use respiratory protection as stated below.
Avoid skin and eye contact. If skin contact is unavoidable, use protective gloves.
Storage: Store in closed container in a dry and well ventilated place.

Gloves: Use gloves of e.g. nitrile rubber (it is important to be aware that there are many different types of nitrile gloves, and that it is therefore necessary to have documentation that the glove is efficient towards this product)

10. Stability and Reactivity

Reacts with bases, acids, and water under formation of methanol.
Reacts with the moisture in the air.
At temperatures above approximately 150°C a very small amount of formaldehyde is liberated because of oxidative degradation.

11. Toxicological information

Acute effects:
- Inhalation: Inhalation of vapours, especially in small rooms, may cause irritation to the respiratory system.
- Ingestion: May cause discomfort and nausea.
- Skin contact: May cause irritation.
- Eye contact: May cause red eyes and irritation.
Long term effects: Repeated or prolonged inhalation of vapours from the product may cause damage to the central nervous system.

12. Ecological information

There is no data for the product itself.
Do not allow to contaminate drains, sewers or water courses.

13. Disposal considerations

Dispose of in accordance with local authority requirements.
